Highways - Up, Down, Over, Under

Instructions: Please recite the following paragraph. Press the 'add audio submission' button to record and submit this exercise.

A highway is a main road people use to travel between different public places. Highways connect cities, towns, and villages. Sometimes, drivers pay money to use the highway, and sometimes highways are free. Highways can go over water, across bridges, and through tunnels. Highways can also go up, down, or under mountains. Some highways have homes or businesses on them. Other highways don't have any buildings on them.

In the French language there is H muet and H aspiré.

But you do not say the H sound. It is more about elision (ne faire pas un pataquès ?).

In the English language we say the H sound.

It is a small error...un petit pataquès. :)

I agree with comments about H sounds. Your vowels are a bit 'closed', particularly "u" sound. Check the open vowel "u" sound (as in umbrella) and use this in 'public' 'under' 'tunnels'. You open 'a' sound is good in 'and' and 'have' but not in places: 'travel' for example, where it is a bit closed.

I think vowels are the main thing causing your strong accent. Good effort and understandable.
