Grocery Shopping
Instructions: Please recite the following paragraph. Press the 'add audio submission' button to record and submit this exercise.
I needed to buy a few apples and some lettuce at
the store tonight. My shopping basket got so heavy
that I took a shopping cart instead. The clerk was
weighing a bunch of bananas for another customer
when I dropped a carton of eggs and a jug of milk
on the floor. The clerk kindly helped me clean up
the mess and get new groceries, but now they are
out of milk, so could you please buy two cartons
of milk for me at the store tomorrow?

Words you could improve a little bit:
lettuce, instead, bananas
You know that I am from England, so I have a different accent to your American friends. We pronounce clerk differently here. (UK = clark US = clurk)
You can listen to both versions here:

You can also check the pronunciation of any other English words :D
Sorry - my recording didn't work!
I will try again :D

You need to practise the word "lettuce", which you can hear at www.howjsay.com/
You should say "weighing" without adding an extra "g" at the end. There is no "g" sound in "weighing" - the final "g" is simply part of the "ng" sound. (And the middle "gh" is for a soft guttural sound that was used in English hundreds of years ago, but is not used now.)
