Occupations

Instructions: Please recite the following paragraph. Press the 'add audio submission' button to record and submit this exercise.

I used to be a musician, but I currently work as a computer programmer. She is a doctor; she is not a nurse. He studied for six years before becoming an architect. Please choose your occupation wisely. When my brother was six years old, he wanted to become a weatherman. I would not make a good sailor because I am afraid of water. The boy is going to school to become a teacher. Why don’t you want to become a fireman?

You have done well.  Often when you come to the word 'become' you say 'be become.'  Remember to pronounce you 'T' when it is followed by an 'L.

    Keep up the good work!

i am not an english native speaker ,but your performance shows that you have done a really good job and i can see you have improved a lot  in your pronunciation .i am sure that with your study going on ,you can do even better and be more confident .you are perfect .you study english by yourself and it is amazing you can achieve something  the like this .i am pround of you .but hereby i  want to give you a  small advice >>do you best to pronounce every word very clearly  and slowly ,we don't ask for spead ,we are in favour of accurating.ok?especially in the level the like  us .what is more ,it is time for us to remember new  words so that we will conquer  every problems  that hinders our improvement .now ,what you should do  is to read as much as possible in  english .i think  you can try to follow strawberryblond...,she is native speaker .and i want to read english text too  now .because i think my  prononciation is far from perfect .let us  work together  and practice  by heart .our goal > native speaker . but go step  by step .even you can not read  all english words now but i am sure one day  you will .by the way ,please listen to strawberryblond ...at least for 5 times ok? and try to catch up with her . good luck!~
