    It is 6 p.m. now. It was a quarter to six fifteen minutes ago. It was five thirty (or half past five) thirty minutes ago.

    Good job! The way you did it is correct, but it is easier and better to write it in the reverse order.

    I would say "It was a quarter to six...", "It was half past five...". And imho it's better to change words order: 'ago' and other adverbal modifiers should be put in the end of the sentence.

    Now it is six pm. Fifteen minutes ago it was a quarter to six. Thirty minutes ago it was five thirty.
