Lolochka's submission: Average Rating:
When I was ill, my friend brought exotic fruits for me. Some of them I ate for the first time. There were: carambola, avocado, mango, persimmon and several usial fruits such as apple, banana and pear. Carambola looked verry beautiful, if it was a flower, I would like to put it in my hair. Avocado had ugly taste, perhaps it was rotten or immature. Later I read Richard Brotigan and found out, that better eat with lime juice. When I buy fruits by myself, I always choose oranges, they are so round and juicy and fresh.

Oh, what a boring theme! Let me tell about my driving school, my darlings. My parents supposed I have no driving gift (or ability) for driving. My dad says: "You have no an ear for music, so to go to a driving school is a unhopeless business". Maybe. But grandma said: "You do everything right". My grandma is a great woman as you remember. So I'm a student now. On the door of our classroom a chicken is was hung. I asked our teacher about it, he said: "Some bad students made a hole in the door, so I hung hanged this sticker". I like this ridiculous chicken. And I like our teacher too. We image, that we are vehicles. My friend Olga is a bicycle and I am a trailer truck. We chose the most difficult time for driving, because roads are greasy slippery, snow covers the traffic signs and everybody curses on his way. But our chicken is with us and I hope, everything will be all right.

Wonderfully amusing and very well done!

When I was ill, my friend brought exotic fruits for me. Some of them I ate for the first time. There were: carambola, avocado, mango, persimmon and several ordinary fruits such as apple, banana and pear. Carambola looked very beautiful, if it were a flower, I would like to put it in my hair. The avocado had a nasty taste, perhaps it was rotten or unripe. Later I read Richard Brotigan and found out, that better eat with lime juice. When I buy fruits by myself, I always choose oranges, they are so round and juicy and fresh.

    Заметки:

-нужно were вместо was когда говорят о чем-то, который не существует. "If it were a flower" (but it's not). "If he were here..." (but he's not). Правда, и носители языка часто в том правиле ошибаются.

-The avocado was... потому что об этом авокаде говорят, которое ты съела, а не о всех авокадах.

-Mature относится в общем к людям (и используется в смысле "взрослого.") Если поведение кого-нубудь детское, можно сказать "he's so immature." О плоде говорят ripe.

-В США говорят "sick" (вместо "ill") а в Англии "to be sick" значит "рвать"!
