Good spelling.
The personal pronoun I is always written as a capital letter, always.
Your first sentence you did very well in using a comma before the conjunction 'but'. This prevented a comma splice. VG! You should not use 'have' with the past tense verb 'bought'. The word have is pesent tense.
"I have forgotten the time when I went shopping, but I still remember I bought a coat. I went shopping by myself. I wanted to buy something small, for instance a notebook to use for recording my teaching program."
I know this is an old submission (about a year ago). The other reviewers redid your work.
Just remember that the first person singular, personal pronoun "I" is always a capital letter in English.
A secret: often a geminate spelling (the same consonant repeated) is just a spelling trick in English to show the single vowel before it is short. So if someone where to use the old spelling of "programme" they would double the "m" after an English short "a." This comes in handy when distinguishing certain words.
For example, "dinner" with a double (= geminate) "n" has an English short "i"and means the evening meal. But "diner" with just one "n" has an English long "i" and means one who eats, or a restaurant that is not fancy.
Note that when adding "-ing" we double the consonant when the stem has an English short vowel ("shopping, sitting, swimming"). But this is not needed when the main form has a long vowel or diphthong ("writing, eating, etc.).
