In Italy each city has got its own Saint's celebration, obviously it is first a religion celebration, but it is also a "party" with shops, lights, concerts, etc . For example in Aprilia (a city about 60Km from Rome) it's celebrated Saint Michele, the Saint that defeated Devil. Saint Michele's day begin September 28th and it takes a weekend.
