One important event in my country is "La Noche de San Juan" (The night of San Juan). San Juan is our capital name and the name of the saint of our city. We celebrate this event every year in june 24. We inherit this holiday from Spain. That night the families and friends go to the beaches and celebrate eating and drinking and of course, bathing in the sea. Many bands and musical groups go to the beaches and the people dance up to the dawn. The tradition says that at twelve o clock every body have to get to the sea to remove the bad luck and to ask for good desires.

...and the people dance until dawn. To ask for good desires = to make wishes.

Dear Kanorys, the night of San Juan is certainly a big fiesta ! Living in France, I have made some short intrusions into Spain , just near the border . Spain is so exciting a country : all kinds of celebrations, bullfights, flamenco ...
