    "Is anybody taking ice cream?"

    Just to be sure, do you mean "taking" as in:

    "Is anybody taking ice cream to the party?"

    If you were thinking "eat" then you should know modern English (at least US English that is) doesn't use "take" that way much anymore. It might be understood by some in some cases but it's increasingly rare.
