Gary Johnson ist letzten Montag wie üblich zur Arbeit gegangen. Er ging ins Büro hinein, aber niemand war dort. Er hat in der Kantine und in den Mitarbeiterbadezimmern nachgesehen. Er hat sogar im Keller gesucht. Gary wusste nicht, was er tun sollte. Er ist zurück ins Büro gegangen; alle Lampen waren ausgeschaltet. Er hat die Lampen angeschaltet und alle seine Mitarbeiter riefen: „Überraschung!“ Es war Garys Geburtstag.

    Although you will occassionally hear the word "Cafeteria" in German as a cognate, the more common word is "die Mensa."

    Perfekt! :) Caféteria ist meiner Meinung nach sehr gebräuchlich. Ich kenne Mensen nur von den Universitäten. In Firmen heisst die Küche auch oft Kantine.
