It's DAS Mädchen, a neuter word, although nearly all speakers use the female pronoun in Standard German.
"Das Mädchen geht über die Straße. Sie geht langsam."
Nouns are supposed to be written with a capital letter, it also makes it easier to distinguish them from adjectives: "Der Junge ist jung."
The reason I gave you only 3 points for quality is that you were supposed to use 2 attributes for every person, like in the sample sentence "Der Junge ist jung und groß."
