Describing Objects

Instructions: Using one positive and one negative statement, describe six objects (a car, a flower, a coin, a tree, a house, a purse). Ex. The house is black. It is not white.

De auto is niet geel, de auto is zilverkleurig. Ik heb een wit handtas mijn portemonnee is zwart. Mijn huis is niet blauw, mijn huis is groen. De vrouw heeft een huis met boom. De munt is niet van goud, de munt is van zilver. De vrachtwagen is niet blauw, de vrachtwagen is oranje.

    Hi PH,

     

    De exercise is about the 'it'. So: De auto is niet geel, HIJ is zilverkleurig. I know this is very dificult, and most people in Holland don't understand it. Please look at: http://www.inventio.nl/genus/ there you can see if a word is female (zij) or male (hij). However, the way you solved the problem is very smart. Most native dutch speakers would do it like this.
