There are two ways to ask the first question. What is the the time now? What time is it now? In the second sentence, although the meaning of the adverb, “before” is similar to 以前, the use in English is not the same as that in Chinese. We would not use it in this sentence. Rather we would use the adjective “ago” which means “gone by” or “past” and follows a noun. What time was it 30 minutes ago? Likewise: And what about 2 hours ago?
