Basic Course Help

Our courses are designed to expand your learning experience through different content types and Livemocha expertise. This section should help solve any problems you encounter while in your Livemocha course.

Livemocha Expert Reviews

Livemocha Expert Reviews allow you to have your submissions for this course reviewed by a Livemocha Expert who is a native speaker of the language you're learning. When you complete a submission in a course you've purchased, a box will appear with the option to have your exercise reviewed by a Livemocha Expert.

A Livemocha Expert will then review your exercise within 72 hours. You will receive a confirmation message once your submission has been reviewed by a Livemocha Expert.

When you visit your exercise submission, the Livemocha Expert review will be graphically differentiated and marked as a “Livemocha Expert Review”. You can always see how many Livemocha Expert Reviews you have remaining in your course package on the “Livemocha Expert Reviews” section on your Course Home page.

Certificates of Completion

You can earn a Certificate of Completion for each Livemocha course you finish. Once you have completed any Livemocha course, you will be able to download a Certificate of Completion, which includes your full name, the course you have completed, and the date of completion. When you download your certificate, you will have the chance to enter your full name, as you would like it printed on your certificate.

Course Content

Your downloadable MP3s, Phrase Books, and videos will be available on the right-hand side of each lesson section on your Course Home page as well as on the right-hand side of all of your lessons.

Audio Downloads

Each lesson in your Livemocha course contains an audio download. The audio is in MP3 format, and will cycle through all the phrases you learned in the lesson. The phrase will be spoken first in the learning language, and then in your native language. You can load this download on your mobile device or use it to practice on your computer.

You can download the audio MP3 on the right hand side of each lesson section from the Course Home page or from the right hand side of the lesson itself.

Video Downloads

Each lesson in your course contains a video. The video is in MPEG format, and will cycle through all the phrases you learned in the lesson. You will see an image of the phrase, and the audio will be spoken first in the learning language, and then in your native language. You can use load this video on your mobile device.

You can download the video on the right hand side of each lesson section from the Course Home page or from the right hand side of the lesson itself.

Phrase Book

Each lesson in your Livemocha course contains a Phrase Book. The Phrase Book is in PDF format and contains a picture and text for each of the phrases you learned in your lesson. You can use this Phrase Book to learn on the go, or print it out and quiz yourself.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I cancel my monthly subscription?

To cancel your monthly subscription, click on “Account” under your “My Profile” tab. Then click on the “Payment History” link in the navigation bar. You should see all of your past purchases listed on this page. Click the “cancel” link in the “Actions” column to cancel a particular subscription. You will have access to your course until the end of your current pay period. At the end of that pay period, your course will expire and you will not be charged again.

If I cancel my subscription, do I get a refund?

Cancelling a subscription will stop all future payments, starting at the end of your current pay period. You will not get a refund for your current month, and you will continue to have access to your course until the end of the month you have already paid for. At the end of that month, your course will expire and you will not be charged again.

How do I get back to my Course Home page?

Once you have purchased a course, a new section named “Premium Upgrades” will appear on your "My Profile" page when you sign in. There will be a link to access your course in this section. You can also access the course by clicking “Resume Course” in the top bar of your "My Profile" page as long you have not signed up for any other courses since your purchase. Finally, you can always access your course from the “My Courses” section under the "Learn and Practice" tab of the site navigation menu.

What happens at the end of my subscription period?

At the end of your subscription period, you will still have access to the coursework and progress in your course. However, your extra services will expire and you will no longer have access to Livemocha Expert Reviews or MP3 Downloads. Don't worry, we will send you a reminder a week and one day before your package expires to remind you when it will occur.

You can also choose to renew your package at the end of this time. Your remaining Livemocha Expert Reviews will automatically be carried over if you choose to renew.

Can I sign up for more Livemocha Expert Reviews?

You can choose to renew your subscription at the end of your subscription period, which will grant you more Livemocha Expert Reviews.

How do I cancel my package?

For one-time-payment packages, you may cancel and request a refund by clicking the "Support" link from the Course Home page and filling out the form completely. For a prompt response, make sure you contact Course Support instead of General Feedback. Refunds must be requested within 30 days of purchase. Please note that you will no longer have access to Livemocha Expert Reviews after cancellation. Refunds are not available for monthly subscriptions.

What if I am not satisfied with one of my Livemocha Expert Reviews?

If you are not happy with the service you received on a review, click the “Support” link on your Course Home page. We will investigate the matter and get back to you within 72 hours. Please make sure to include as many specifics as possible so we may better assist you. We may grant you additional reviews.

How do I earn and access my Certificate of Completion?

You will earn your Certificate of Completion by simply completing one entire Livemocha course (e.g. French 101). You can earn a new certificate for each Livemocha course that you complete. You can find the links to download your certificate in a number of places:

  • On the completion page of the last exercise you finished in a course
  • Your Course Home page
  • In an email we will send you when you complete a course
  • Your My Courses page

When you click on the "Download Certificate of Completion" link in any of these places, you will have a chance to enter your full name as you would like it printed on your certificate.

Can I fix an error or typo in my name on my Certificate?

Carefully check your name before downloading your Certificate -- you will have a chance to review and edit your name before the Certificate is generated. If you have already downloaded your Certificate and there is an error or typo in your name, you can reenter your name here.

Please note: This tool should only be used to correct mistakes in the display of your name. It is against Livemocha policy to generate certificates with different peoples' names on them. If you are found in violation of this policy, you will be subject to removal from Livemocha.

Can I access my certificate after my course has expired?

Yes! Once created, your certificate will always be available in the Certificates section of your Livemocha profile page. You can access this page after your course has expired and re-download your certificate at any time (though you can not change the name printed on your certificate).
