Instructions: Describe people and objects, including both singular and plural forms. Use both positive and negative statements. Ex. We are women. We are not men. This is a gold coin. These are not yellow flowers.

    Please, I’m a bit confused. Sometimes I find the words Éste, Éstos, Éstas written as Este, Estos, Estas, namely, without the acute accent. Which is the really correct form? Thank you!

    Your exercice is perfect . Congratulations!! About accents!! Well, Capital letters must be accented, but , It's true, that not too much people do it! unfortunately . In Spanish there are demostrative pronouns , and demostraives adjetives : DEMOSTR PRONOUNS : ALWAYS with accent . Ej: Estoy leyendo éso. Éstos son más caros que ésos. BUT!! there is one exception : Neuter pronouns, also known as indefinite demonstrative pronouns, refer to unspecified or unknown nouns, situations, and ideas. Note that these never have an accent. -¿Qué es esto? What is this? -Eso es imposible. That is impossible. -Aquello no es necesario. That's not necessary _DEMOSTRAT ADJETIVES : WITHOUT accent : Esta camisa es bonita. Me gusta aquella casa. I hope this can resolve your doubts. Saludos !

Estas (sin acento - adjetivo demostrativo) monedas no son doradas, son plateadas. Éstos (pronombre demostrativo) son niños, árboles, automóviles y hombres. Éste (pronombre demostrativo) es un edifício azul y blanco. La puerta de la casa blanca es marrón.     Hola JB! Comprendo tu duda porque no es tan sencillo, pero me gustaría aclararte algo. Estoy de acuerdo con Rafohc porque en tu ejercicio ESTE no se acentúa cuando funciona como un adjetivo demostrativo. Pero ÉSTE tambien puede llevar acento cuando actúa como pronombre demostrativo. Ejemplo: Cuando la palabra (ESTE) acompaña al nombre, funciona como adjetivo demostrativo y NO se acentúa (no llevan tilde): ESTE automóvil es mío ESTA billetera es tuya ESA casa es de mi amigo ESTOS automóviles no son plateados ESTAS monedas no son doradas Cuando la palabra (ESTE) sustituye al nombre, funciona como pronombre demostrativo y SI se acentúa (llevan tilde): ÉSTE es mi automóvil ÉSTA es tu billetera ÉSA es la casa de mi amigo ÉSTOS son niños ÉSTE es un edificio azul y blanco Ahora! Difiero un poco de la opinión de Paulina porque en español existen reglas de ortografía y de acentuación que dicta la Real Academia Española y deben ser respetadas en todos los casos. (Mas aún cuando estamos aprendiendo el idioma) Una de esas reglas es que todas las palabras que requieren acento, sea minúscula o MAYÚSCULA deben llevar tilde. Así que es correcto cuando acentúas las palabras con MAYÚSCULAS. Saludos! Reina

    The Royal Spanish Academy of Language (the supreme authority in spanish language) says: The capital letters always have an accent written, ther only one exceptions : the letter in acronym (in spanish SIGLA) ex.: CIA . The words ESTE, ESE and AQUEL, with their feminines and plurals can be: PRONOUNS(when their works instead of a sustantive) or ADJECTIVES (when modified a sustantive). their never have an accent except when atheir have ambiguity or doubt about their signification, in this case their must be have an accent when their are used as pronouns. ¿Dónde encontraron esos documentos secretos? (No accent , such is interpreted as an adjective modifying the noun documents, the subject of the sentence is not explicit). ¿Dónde encontraron ésos documentos secretos?
