Era la primera vez cuando me encontré a la madre de mi novio. Yo estaba todo el tiempo nervioso antes de que me la encontrara en person. Contrariamente a mi cuidado, ella era muy amable a mí y me dio la bienvenida agradecidamente. La madre de mi novio me dio algunos regalos cuando salí de su casa después de que gasté allí para las vacaciones. Ésos eran una caja de joyería y un broch bonito. Esos me alegraba mucho.

Se entiende muy bien todo lo que dices, pero no es la forma en la que nosotros lo diríamos.
(Las notas están en inglés, para que me entiendas mejor).
Era la primera vez que me encontraba con la madre de mi novio. Yo estaba todo el tiempo nerviosa antes de que me la encontrara en persona. Contrariamente a mi cuidado, ella era muy amable hacia mí (o 'conmigo') y me dio la bienvenida agradecidamente. La madre de mi novio (you can also say 'Ella' because we already know you're talking about her) me dio algunos regalos cuando salí de su casa después de que gasté pasé allí para las vacaciones. Esos eran una caja de joyería y un broch bonito. Eso me alegró mucho (talking about the action of her giving you the presents).
