  I have found that time exercises are very confusing.  You say things a different way in Chinese, in English we would say what you have written slightly different:
  The time is seven fifty in the morning or 7:50 am or even ten to eight.  Fifteen minutes ago it was seven thirty -five, or 7:35am.  Thirty minutes ago it was twenty minutes past seven or 7:20am.  Hope this helps and is not more confusing, Cam

  Try this:  It is 7:50 (seven fifty) AM.  Fifteen minutes ago, it was 7:35 (seven thirty-five) AM, and thirty minutes ago it was 7:05 (seven oh-five) AM.
