At the airport
jīntiān wǒ hé bàba māma dōu hěn gāoxìng
今 天 我 和 爸爸 妈妈 都 很 高兴 。
Today, my dad, my mom and I were very happy,
yīnwei zhèshì wǒmen dòngshēnhuí Zhōngguóde rìzi
因 为 这 是 我们 动身 回 中国 的 日子 。
Because this was the day we were going back to China.
wǒmenláidàojīchǎngxiàleqìchēzhǎodàoyīliàngxínglichē
我们 来到 机场 ，下 了 汽车, 找到 一 辆 行李车 ，
We came to the airport, got out of the car, found a baggage cart,
Tuī zhe xíngli qù bàn dēng jī shǒuxù
推 着 行李 去 办 登 机 手续 。
pushed the cart to check in.
chuānzhe hángkōng gōngsī zhìfú de xiǎojiě
穿 着 航 空 公 司 制服 的 小姐 ，
rèqíng di wèn wǒmen
热 情 地 问 我们 ，
The stewardess in the airline uniform asked us enthusiastically:”
qǐngwèn nǐmen yào tuōyùn jǐ jiàn xíngli
“请问 你们 要 托 运 几 件 行李?‘’
“Excuse me, how many luggages would you like to check in?”
bàba shuō yīgòng sān jiàn
爸爸 说“ 一共 三 件。”
My dad said,” Three altogether.”
xiǎojiěyòuwènzhèxiē xíngli shì nǐmen zìjǐ shōushíde
小 姐 又 问，“这 些 行李 是 你们 自己 收拾 的 ，
The stewardess continued,“Was the baggage packed by yourselves or by others?”
háishi biérén bāng nǐ shōushíde
还 是 别人 帮 你 收拾 的？”
bàba shuō shì wǒmen zìjǐ shōushíde
爸爸 说，“ 是 我们 自己 收拾 的。
My dad said,"We did by ourselves."
我 们 办 好 了 登 机 手续 ， 拿 着 登 机 牌 ，
We checked in, got our boarding passes,
jīngguò ānquán jiǎnchá láidàole hòujī dàtīng
经 过 安全 检查 ， 来 到 了 候 机 大 厅 。
Went through the security check and got to the terminal.
dàtīng lǐ yǒu hěnduō shāngdiàn。
大 厅 里 有 很多 商店 。
shāngdiàn lǐde dōngxi yòuduōyòuhǎo
商 店 里的 东西 又 多 又 好 。
There were many stores. The products in the stores were various and good.
yǒude dōngxi hěn piányi.
有的 东西 很 便 宜 。
Some of them were very cheap.
lǚkè men yǒude mǎi jìniànpǐn yǒude mǎi yān jiǔ
旅客 们 有的 买 纪念品 ， 有的 买 烟 酒 。
Some of the passengers were buying souvenirs. Some of them were buying tobacco and alcohol.
wǒmen zuò zài hòujītīng lǐ
我 们 坐 在 候 机 厅 里 。
bàba zài kàn bàozhǐ māma zài kàn zázhì
爸爸 在 看 报纸 ， 妈妈 在 看 杂志 ，
We were sitting at the terminal. Papa was reading the newspaper. Mama was reading a magazine.
Wǒ kàn zhe diànzǐ xiǎnshì pái
我 看 着 电子 显示 牌 。
I was reading the electronic display.
nà shàngmian búduàn dì xiǎnshì chū
那 上 面 不 断 地 显 示 出
gè hángbān de qǐfēi shíjiān
各 航 班 的 起飞 时间 。
It kept showing the take-off schedule of every airline
从 候 机 厅 的 落 地 窗 ，

From the French windows of the terminal, we could see airport's long runway.

The sky was cloudless over the airport. Some airplanes were landing.

Some were taking off. At the airport, everywhere was a busy scene

Now, there sounded an announcement,“ May I have your attention please,

开始 登机了， 请 旅客 们 带 齐 自己的 行李 物品
The flight 371 to Hongkong starts boarding. Please take your luggages
Dàoshíhào dēngjīkǒu dēng jī。Wǒ hé bàba māma
到 10 号 登 机 口 登 机 。” 我 和 爸爸，妈妈
to Gate 10 for boarding.” My dad, my mom and I
