OK, I understand you as: Last year, I went to Chicago, Illinois I went there by train and returned home by plane. I want to go everywhere in the world!

►I would rewrite your grey sentence above as: Je suis allé en train, et je suis rentré en avion. I believe both clauses should be past tense. Why the mismatch of I and we? Unless you actually meant outbound solo & return with family.

►La cité Chicago est féminin. au = à le  :)  No definite article when talking about cities, unlike countries.

As you know very well, I'm just a peer learner. Listen to others more authoritative in case of conflicts.

J'adore voyager aussi. J'aimerai aller partout dans le monde!

L'année dernière, je suis allée au à Chicago, Illinois.

Je suis allée en train et nous sommes je suis revenue (or rentrée it's better on this sentence) à la maison en avion.

If you begin with"je" (I) you have to finish with "je" (I) except if you were not alone "à l'arrivée".

Je veux "want" (voudrais "wish" is better) aller partout dans le monde.

    Sinon bon travail continues ainsi!

    Oops, I forgot that you're a girl...

OK, "Je suis allée..." it is then. Oh, and of course "je suis rentrée" also.  I seem to consistently forget the possibility of feminine "je".  :)
