I am at my desk. There are four pens and a book on the table.
(I am using Chinese IME pinyin. How do you change the character when the wrong one shows up? I write the word in pinyin, but the wrong word appears)

In your homework, the first mistake is zuo（坐） isn't zou（走）。the second，In english, we say there is something on the table，so is chinese. we say" you"(there is 有）something "zai zhuo zi shang"(on the table 在桌子上）。the third is quantifier, say about book in chinese is "yi ben shu"（a book 一本书），say about pen in chinese is "yi zhi bi"（一支笔a pen).you see in english the quantifier are all "a "which is different to chinese.
In chinese one pinyin is correspond with two or more words, for example, the corresponding word to chinese pinyin "qian "can be "钱”and "前”，but their meaning is different.when you use pinying in your writting.If your writting is a sentence, the reader could know the corresponding words through the expressing of the whole setence.so when your study pinying you the most important thing is to read the word correctly. chinese pinying is assistant to learn chinese words.when you learn chinese words you should take more attention to their meaning.
