In Belgium, there aren't a lot of popular holdiays. Most of them are just normal holidays, so the people don't do anything special. On the 21th of july people celebrate the National Day. Actually, you can compare this to 'Independence Day'. Not many people celebrate this, because 'patriotism' is not important anymore.
Besides this, Christmas and New Year are popular as well. Normally we go to our family and celebrate this together. And usually the best cook in the family prepares a huge meal (we need a lot of food because sometimes more than 30 people are invitated)!
In the end, everyone gives and receives a present. Only the kids don't have to buy a present, because they don't earn money (i agree with that). And when the young people are bored, they start playing games (soccer, poker, etc.). After the banquet everyone stays a bit longer for another chat. Mostly this is one of the most interesting moments. This holiday lasts (unfortunately) only one day. But if it'd last more days, i wouldn't be so pleasant.

I have some suggestions for you.
I think you can not start the sentence with "And".
"At" not "in" the end,
Only kids can not buy presents because thet don't earn money.
When the young people get bored, they ...
Keep up :)
